Hello all you animal lovers out there,

it's been a while since I have written something in my blog. The last few years have been full of challenges and changes... I assume you all feel the same?

Our shop is now 5 years old and many new businesses don't make it past these first few year. To be honest, we did not believe we would make it either and it is still difficult to say how long we can last.

Due to Covid 19 many of our initial plans for Animales online had to be adjusted. We had to close our retail store after only a year and many of the events we used to participate in were cancelled.  In 2022 the weather has impacted many Outdoor pop-up stalls we had planned. Markets were cancelled and heavy wind has not only destroyed many of our products. In June our Gazebo crashed under torrential rain and storm in Adelaide.  

So, here we are now: January 2023. 

We are currently reviewing our product range, website structure and design as well as our social media presence.  We have a few events lined up for this year. However, many of them are outdoors and will again depend on the weather.

Unfortunately Covid 19 has pushed many large businesses online and that has resulted in increased cost for advertising. Fees for online marketing have almost trippelt since 2019 and that cuts into our margins. We also face tough competition from Amazon because overseas sellers now push products into Australia that used to be exclusive to our store here in Australia. 

What to expect from 2023?  We do not know yet. But we will decide this year, if it is financially viable to keep Animales online alive. If you like our products and our service, please help us to overcome these challenges.
